Easy Day Cafe has been very high on my list of review destinations since I heard about it shortly after its official opening a couple months ago. I knew the perfect time to go there was right after picking up my brand new Charmin Ultra Soft Smooth Tear Muga Roll that I made with my very own TP-reviewing hand. The barista was more than happy to make my drink in it. He showered it with compliments and bragged about it on my behalf as he passed the Muga Roll to Peter, one of Easy Day Cafe’s owners. Because of the wonderful reception, I decided to give them a bit more context by revealing myself as the Twin Cities Toilet Paper Reviewer and letting them know I was here to review their toilet paper.
After asking a few follow-up questions (including if I am the one who did the State Fair TP reviews), Peter claimed the toilet paper at his cafe was “middle of the road” and said I might be disappointed by it. If my impressively long tenure as a toilet paper reviewer has taught me anything, it’s that business owners who say those words have literally no idea what they’re talking about.
I told him not to worry about it if the rating is mid. I know that he’s in the business of making good coffee, not providing toilet paper. I’m only here to let his customers know whether or not they should wipe. To which he responded, quite emphatically, “But coffee shops should have good toilet paper!”
As I waited for the tea for my London Fog to steep, I headed to the bathroom, wondering which kind of solidly-B toilet paper I’d find. Well folks, as you already know, I found nothing of the sort. I chuckled to myself as I glanced at the roll, started writing this review in my head, and almost forgot to actually take a picture of the Twin Cities’ fourth (and Minneapolis’s second) A- toilet paper.
Although by this point this particular toilet paper is all but guaranteed an A- rating, I still do my due diligence. Like the others that came before, it was soft with just the right amount of texture, the plies held together, and protected my hand from getting wet. I did have some difficult tearing it, but I really think that was more of a me problem. Either way, that’s like a tertiary offense when it comes to toilet paper ratings.
Good to know: the bathroom at Easy Day Cafe is free from signage of any kind (including one indicating the door leads to a bathroom), so you won’t have to consider which door to use. It’s the one closest to the counter.
So there you have it. If you want to get coffee (or a London Fog) somewhere in Minneapolis where you can plan to wipe safely, Easy Day Cafe is the place for you.
